About the role

As our Planning Executive you'll support marketing planning for the business, as well as maintaining the annual campaign plan, helping to track and execute this across marketing and digital channels.

You will need to have strong organisational skills and build relationships with stakeholders from across the business, working cross- functionally to ensure all our plans are built around customer needs and aligned at least 18 months out.

You will work closely with both the Customer and trading team as well as the wider marketing team to deliver on the objectives.

 

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Maintain a rolling 18-month marketing and activity plan with the Senior Planning Manager, being the main point of contact for all planned activity.
  • Support the development of the 18-month campaign plan using customer insight, macro trends and other external events to ensure a customer led plan which align to trading objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end marketing projects, ensuring SMART objectives, timelines, budgets, and deliverables are clear.
  • Develop and implement project plans, defining scope, milestones, and measures of success.
  • Drive cost and efficiency improvements by continuously suggesting improvements to the end-to-end marketing process to ensure on-time and effective delivery.
  • Work with the Senior Planning Manager to ensure our marketing agencies have sight of all plans and timelines.
  • Lead campaign and channel planning meetings, ensuring that channel delivery teams are clearly briefed on campaign activity.
  •  Work closely with the Motoring and Cycling trading teams to ensure campaign & promotional briefs align with wider activity.
  • Build strong and trusted cross-functional relationships with, category, ops, space, finance, IT, and propositions to deliver aligned marketing plans.
  • Analyse campaign performance against established KPIs, identifying areas for future improvements.

 Campaign Activation

  • Pull together customer led campaign briefs for agencies and internal marketing teams.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed to plan through all marketing and digital channels, helping to producing engaging marketing plans in the appropriate format to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate evaluation of success of campaigns for all business stakeholders, actively driving improvements.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven previous experience in marketing role.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple project timelines
  • Experience of effective cross functional working
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised environment, with experience in managing multiple projects and timelines at any one time.
  • Proactive attitude with a motivation to challenge the status quo and propose new creative ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good written communication skills. Previous brief writing experience preferable.
  • Good verbal presentation skills, with experience presenting to groups.
  • Good influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to analyse customer insight to inform decision making.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, word, outlook and a good level of computer literacy.
