About the role

As the Own Brand Manager, you will play a vital part in setting the strategic vision for our own brand strategy, driving advocacy of Halfords own brand amongst our target customers. Leading temporary, cross functional and collaborative working groups to shape and design the future of own brand as well as deliver programmatic benefits associated. You’ll align own brand into one story for the customer, being purposeful about it’s positioning and role in each category and unlocking and owning profitability benefits as you do so.  

 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Co-design and influence the role of own brand across all our categories, working with buying and marketing teams to define a meaningful and consistent position
  • Define, develop and business case the commercial opportunities for own brand, alongside buying teams, championing and influencing these across multiple stakeholders
  • Direct involvement in range reviews, championing in angst the role of own brand in categories that it’s relevant- aligning positioning with target customer cohorts and competitive opportunities
  • Influencing, aligning and owning the programme delivery, to unlock and track value promised via own brand strategies
  • Ensuring each own brand launch is fit for perfect customer experiences and challenging any compromises made
  • Driving own brand growth ensuring visibility in the right way across our sales channels, holding digital, marketing and merchandising teams to account

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in being part of designing & delivering own brand strategies successfully
  • Ideally comes from a buying/category role and/or programme manager role
  • Experienced in influencing stakeholders with frameworks to follow when shaping future goals
  • Can present successfully and succinctly with engaging visuals, able to present to all levels in an organisation and comfortable presenting at director level
  • Business Management/Marketing degree 2:1 or equivalent
  • Highly versed in creating business cases
